Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 January 2026.
By using tempx.uk or mail.tempx.uk (“Tempx”, “the service”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. What the service is
Tempx provides free, temporary, receive-only email addresses. Messages sent to those addresses are displayed to you for a short time and then permanently deleted. There is no account and no charge.
2. Best-effort, no warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that mail will be delivered, that the service will be available at any given time, that messages will be retained for any minimum period, or that the service will continue to exist. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time without notice.
3. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not use Tempx to:
- break any applicable law or regulation;
- receive, store or distribute material that is unlawful, or that you are not authorised to access;
- harass, defraud, impersonate or harm others;
- facilitate spam or other bulk messaging (note that Tempx cannot send mail);
- evade a suspension, ban or block imposed by another service;
- create accounts in bulk in violation of another service's terms;
- circumvent the service's rate limits or abuse protections, or attempt to disrupt its infrastructure;
- use the service for two-factor authentication, account recovery or other security-critical mail for accounts that are not themselves disposable.
4. No confidentiality
Do not use Tempx for sensitive or confidential information. Addresses are random but the service is not a secure channel, and operators can technically access stored messages before they expire. See the Privacy Policy.
5. Availability of messages
Messages may be deleted at any time, including before the stated retention period, for operational or abuse-prevention reasons. We are not responsible for any loss resulting from a message being unavailable or deleted.
6. Rate limits and enforcement
We apply rate limits and automated abuse detection. We may block requests, addresses or networks that appear to be abusing the service, at our discretion.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tempx and the individuals who operate it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version is always at this URL with the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your place of residence applies instead.
