Disposable Email
A disposable email address — also called a throwaway email — is an inbox you create for a single purpose and then discard. It is the same idea as temporary email: the emphasis is on using the address once and not caring what happens to it afterwards.
Tempx provides free disposable email addresses with no registration. Open the app to get one.
Why use a disposable email address?
- Keep marketing mail out of your real inbox. The address that receives the “welcome” email is the same one that receives every promotion afterwards. Make that a disposable address.
- Limit how far your real address spreads. Databases get breached and sold. An address you only used once, and that no longer exists, is not worth much to anyone.
- Avoid giving a real identifier to services you do not trust yet. If a site turns out to be low quality, you have lost nothing.
- Register test accounts. QA and development workflows frequently need a fresh address per test run.
How disposable email protects your primary inbox
Your primary inbox becomes noisy and exposed through ordinary use: every newsletter, every store, every app gets a copy of your address. A disposable address breaks that chain. The low-value sign-ups go to an inbox that disappears, and your real address stays known only to people and services you actually care about — which also makes real phishing easier to spot.
Risks and limits of disposable email
A disposable address is convenient, not confidential, and not permanent.
- You cannot get back in. If you use a disposable address to register an account and later need to reset the password, the verification email may be long gone.
- Some sites block disposable domains. If a site rejects
tempx.uk, that is expected behaviour, not a bug. - Not for security-sensitive mail. Never route 2FA codes or account-recovery links for important services through a disposable address.
- Shared risk. Because the address is disposable and deleted quickly, assume messages could be read by the operator before expiry.
Create a disposable email address

Disposable, temporary, throwaway — what is the difference?
In practice, none. “Disposable email”, “temporary email”, “throwaway email” and “temp mail” all describe a short-lived address you do not intend to keep. Tempx uses the terms interchangeably.
