About Tempx
Tempx is a free temporary email service. It exists to solve one small, common problem: you often need to receive an email — a confirmation link, a download code, a test message — without handing over your real address and dealing with the follow-up mail for months afterwards.
What Tempx does
Tempx generates a random, working email address on demand. Mail sent to that address is delivered to a web inbox you can read straight away. After a short retention period the messages are permanently deleted. There is no account, no password and no email client to install.
How Tempx is operated
Tempx is an independent project, not a registered company, and we do not pretend otherwise. It runs on Cloudflare's developer platform: incoming mail is handled by a serverless function, and messages are stored in isolated per-address storage with an automatic expiry. The code that receives and displays mail is intentionally small so it is easy to review and reason about.
We do not publish a staff count, office address, company registration number, certifications or awards, because inventing those would be dishonest. If that transparency matters to you, we would rather you know the truth about the size of the project.
What Tempx deliberately does not do
- It does not send email, so it cannot be used to spam anyone.
- It does not ask for or store personal details.
- It does not sell data or run behavioural advertising. Product analytics, if enabled, record only anonymous event counts (for example “an address was generated”) and never message content.
- It does not claim to be anonymous, untraceable or perfectly secure. It is a convenience tool with clear limits, described on How It Works and in our Privacy Policy.
